Silver Torches is the project of Seattle singer-songwriter Erik Walters, a member of the touring band for Perfume Genius and David Bazan. He’s following up last year’s debut album Heatherfield this fall with a second LP called Let It Be A Dream, and the titular fixation on mirage-like visions isn’t his only common bond with the War On Drugs’ Adam Granduciel. Silver Torches’ music hews closer to outright country music than Granduciel’s bleary heartland-rock fantasias, but new single “If I Reach” taps into a similar synth-powered Americana. It’s a lovely tune that you can enjoy below.
