The Knife Announce Shaking The Habitual: Live At Terminal 5 Album, Film, & Photo Book — But Good Luck Getting A Copy
A series of characteristically weird teaser videos this past week had fans wondering if legendary Swedish experimental electronic duo the Knife wondering were coming out of retirement to release new music. Alas, it seems they’re just releasing a live album and concert movie, albeit one documenting their deeply fascinating live show supporting 2013’s Shaking The Habitual, one that saw siblings Karin and Olof Dreijer expanding the band into an 11-piece dance troupe.
The newly announced Shaking The Habitual: Live At Terminal 5 album, film, and photo book are out a little over two weeks from now via Rabid Records. However, due to a dispute between the Knife and another label, Brille Records, the project won’t be available to stream or purchase in a large portion of the world including the UK and Ireland, the US and Canada, Asia, and throughout Latin America. A representative of the band says the film will be streaming on the Knife’s website here beginning on its 9/1 release date. Watch a trailer below.
Shaking The Habitual: Live At Terminal 5 is out 9/1 via Rabid. Pre-order the double album and DVD here and the photo book here. The film will also screen at the Bio Rio Cinema in Stockholm on 8/30.
