Luna – “Fire In Cairo” (The Cure Cover) Video (Feat. Rose McGowan)
The dreamy ’90s New York rockers Luna have reunited, and they’re about to drop two new releases: An all-new EP called A Place Of Greater Safety and a covers album called A Sentimental Education. We’ve posted their versions of Fleetwood Mac’s “One Together” and Mink DeVille’s “Let Me Dream If I Want To,” and now they’ve shared another one, in music-video form. The band’s new video is for their floaty, detached version of the Cure’s Three Imaginary Boys oldie “Fire In Cairo.” The clip stars the actress Rose McGowan; director Keven McAlester films her as she looks at old pictures of herself, hangs out backstage at a Luna show, and speaks with film critic Amy Nicholson. The clip is made to look like an old Warhol short, and it makes great use of light and shadow. Check it out below.
A Sentimental Education and A Place Of Greater Safety are both out on 9/22 via Double Feature. Pre-order them from Pledge Music.
