Radiator Hospital – “Pastoral Radio Hit”
Last month, Radiator Hospital put out “Dance Number,” the first single from their new album, Play The Songs You Like, and with their latest song “Pastoral Radio Hit,” it looks like a loose theme is starting to take shape with regards to the band’s attitude towards the mainstream. “Pastoral Radio Hit” isn’t as meta as all that, though; instead, it’s the sort of bleary love song that Sam Cook-Parrott does best. The “hit” in question is not being able to get another person out of your head, like the song from your favorite record stuck on loop: “‘Cus I’ve been in your head, been on your mind/ End up in your bedroom half the time/ Feeling like I’m a part of your life/ Losing you and I open my eyes,” Cook-Parrott duets on the hook. Listen to it below.
Play The Songs You Like is out 10/20 via Salinas Records. Pre-order it here.
