Chino Moreno has released a new solo track called "Brief Exchange" that was inspired by the DC comic DARK NIGHTS: METAL: DELUXE EDITION. It's the Deftones frontman's first collaboration with the superhero comic publisher, and it's a towering track that matches the campiness of its source material, with Moreno's distinctive vocals gliding through a dark terrain.
The song was produced by Mike Elizondo and former Marilyn Manson guitarist Tyler Bates, who has his own history with the other side of the comics universe with his compositions and music direction for Marvel films Guardians Of The Galaxy and Deadpool 2.
It's the second time that DC Comics has teamed up with a musician to write a song for this particular graphic novel series. Last month, Mastodon's Brann Dailor contributed a song called "Red Death."
