Ovlov – “Short Morgan”
Last month, the Connecticut cult heroes Ovlov announced that they would finally be following up their 2013 debut am with a new album called Tru. Its first single, “Spright,” was really great and made our best songs of the week list when it came out. Today, the band’s shared another song from the album, “Short Morgan,” that’s a screamer of epic proportions. At just a little over two minutes, it starts off running and never slows down.
“‘Short Morgan’ is about being alone and not knowing how to handle it cause a lot of life can feel pointless without having a friend to share it with,” the band’s Steve Hartlett told The Fader in a statement. “Theo’s drumming is really what makes this song be able to rock and be sick and not so country-pop. I think the solo in the middle is my favorite solo I ever did. Also Morgan’s leads in the 2nd verse make me feel really good.”
