Girl Band are releasing their sophomore album, The Talkies, at the end of the month. The Irish group have shared two songs from it so far, “Shoulderblades” and “Going Norway,” and today they’re back with a third, an extended dirge known as “Salmon Of Knowledge.”

Named after the creature from Irish mythology, it was apparently once in the running for the title track before Girl Band settled on The Talkies, and it’s certainly a statement track, or at least a song with a lot of ideas swirling around. It’s largely a spoken word piece from Dara Kiely, his words swallowed by a pulsing underbelly of noise that lends itself to a drunken stumble.
