In addition to being in Downtown Boys, Joey La Neve DeFrancesco makes radical dance music as La Neve. DeFrancesco released the project’s debut American Sounds EP back in 2017, and this fall La Neve will release her debut album, The Vital Cord, which also contains the single “Maximum Wage” that came out earlier this year. Today, La Neve is sharing “A Pretty Red,” an extended propulsion that’s campy and layered, a house track for the end of the world.

“‘A Pretty Red’ is about fully understanding and embracing our historical purpose,” La Neve said in a statement. “As younger people we’re finally really realizing we’re the only ones who can steer our world away from complete apocalypse.”
