Stream Oranssi Pazuzu’s New Album Mestarin kynsi
We named Oranssi Pazuzu’s last album, Värähtelijä, one of the best metal albums of 2016. And now, they’re back with another full-length. On Mestarin kynsi, or Master’s Nail, the Finnish psychedelic black metal band continue to push the outer limits of black metal, pulling prog and Krautrock and acid house and jazz and avant-garde noise into a giant blender and lighting the resulting cosmic sludge on fire.
“We definitely wanted to look for new horizons, but on the other hand continue something we began building already on Värähtelijä,” says frontman Jun-His in a statement. “Some big influences were electro albums that inspired an idea about having a song that would travel through different kinds of portals whilst being mutilated and mutated by the new environment.” Dive into the portal that is Mestarin kynsi below.
Mestarin kynsi is out now via Nuclear Blast.
