Tyler, The Creator Is Fine With GOLF Store Damage From George Floyd Protests: “This Is Bigger Than Getting Some Glass Fixed”
At this point, many artists have voiced their solidarity with those who are protesting across the country following the murder of George Floyd. Over the weekend, a handful of musicians and actors were seen at protests themselves. One of them, seemingly, was Tyler, The Creator, who also took to Instagram to share some thoughts yesterday.
Tyler’s post came from the Golf Wang account associated with his clothing brand, after his GOLF store in LA was damaged during the protests. But Tyler wasn’t concerned about the store. (As opposed to Virgil Abloh, who drew some criticism over the weekend after he posted on socials condemning looters after some businesses he has associations with were affected.) Instead, Tyler uploaded a photo with the caption: “BLACK FURY: keep your eyes wide and educate yourself. ( black panther party, 1969).”
In a later comment, he added: “and the store is fine, but even if it wasnt, this is bigger than getting some glass fixed and buffing spray paint off, understand what really needs to be fixed out here. stay safe, love.” You can see his post below.
