Longtime Purling Hiss leader Mike Polizze announced his debut solo album, Long Lost Solace Find, last month. Fellow Philadelphia denizen Kurt Vile had a hand in the album’s lead single, “Revelation,” and he also helped out on its second single, “Cheewawa,” which is being released today. “I wish I wrote ‘Cheewawa’ (guess I’ll have to cover it!),” Vile said in a press release. “Luckily I got to play harmonica and sing ghost vocals on it… I’ve been waiting for this kinda Polizze.”

The song comes with a dreamy, laidback video that matches the mood of the song. “Cheewawa’ was shot and edited in one day during the height of quarantine,” Polizze said. “On that afternoon, the spring cheer felt eerie against the bleakness of the pandemic. Things don’t seem much better lately, but hopefully this will provide a brief moment of solace.”
