Ascendant Houston rap star Megan Thee Stallion was shot outside a Hollywood Hills home this past weekend. Although the details are still fuzzy at this point, we know that the incident led to Toronto rapper Tory Lanez being arrested on felony weapons charges.

Multiple reports suggest that Lanez shot Megan in the foot as she was exiting his SUV after an argument, and although he isn't officially a suspect in the case as of now, the LAPD is investigating him for potential assault with a deadly weapon. And now Megan herself is speaking out in a new statement.

"Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own," Megan writes on Twitter. "It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized." See below.
