Stream Mouthing’s Terrifyingly Frantic Debut EP
Mouthing are a Houston band whose songs are short, horrifically intense outbursts bridging screamo, grindcore, crust, noise-rock, and probably several other subgenres that approximate the sound of a small village being eaten by demons. Their self-titled debut EP is out today, a co-release between the The Ghost Is Clear and the increasingly vital British Columbia label Zegema Beach (whose recent catalog includes impressive titles from Nuvolascura and Infant Island among others).
The Mouthing EP comprises seven tracks, none longer than three minutes, most about a minute and a half. Each of them is a magnificent freakout that layers searing shrieks over a throttling, shapeshifting low end. The results are disgustingly filthy and breathtakingly unhinged. Dig into the EP below.
