Stream Atlanta Rap Supergroup Spillage Village’s New Album Spilligion
Spillage Village is the Atlanta rap collective founded by J.I.D and EARTHGANG that now counts 6LACK, Mereba, Hollywood JB, Jurdan Bryant, and Benji amongst its members. Today, they’re finally releasing Spilligion, their major-label debut and follow-up to their 2016 project Bears Like This Too Much.
Since the release of Bears Like This Too Much, Spillage Village have effectively become a supergroup and signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville Records label. They recorded Spilligion while renting and living in a house together during quarantine, and the songs on Spilligion, like “Ea’alah,” “Oshun,” and “Hapi,” are all named after things from religious texts.
In addition to the usual cast of Village people, Spilligion features appearances from Dungeon Family’s Big Rube, Chance The Rapper, Ari Lennox, Masego, Lucky Daye, Buddy, and more. Spilligion’s lead single “End Of Daze” topped our 5 Best Songs Of The week list when it came out, and you can get lost in the LP’s soulful mix of rap, R&B, funk, and gospel below.
Spilligion is out now via Dreamville/SinceThe80s/Interscope Records.
