Machine Gun Kelly Has First #1 Album With Tickets To My Downfall
Machine Gun Kelly — who is a punk now, apparently (and a comment section lightning rod, certainly) — has earned his first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The artist’s Travis Barker-produced new album earned 126,000 equivalent album units, per Billboard.
It was his fifth time in the Top 10 but his first album to land in the top spot. His highest peak previously was #4, which he made with both 2015’s General Admission and 2012’s Lace Up. Tickets For My Downfall was boosted by merchandise/album bundles and was “reissued” a few days after its initial release with six additional tracks.
MGK was followed by two fellow chart debuts: K-pop group SuperM at #2 with 104,000 units and Joji’s Nectar at #3 with 92,000 units. That was followed by Pop Smoke’s Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon at #4 and Deftones’ Ohms at #5, which launched with 49,000 units.
