Alice In Chains Tribute Concert To Feature Metallica, Billy Corgan, Korn, & More
Alice In Chains are the recipient of the Founders Award at Seattle’s Museum Of Pop Culture this year and they’ll be honored with a virtual tribute concert in a couple weeks. The one-night-only benefit will be broadcast online for free (or with a donation) on 12/1 at 9PM EST. Alice In Chains themselves will perform, as will Metallica, Billy Corgan, Korn, Ann and Nancy Wilson, Duff McKagan, Corey Taylor, Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney, Mark Lanegan, Taylor Hawkins, Mastodon, Krist Novoselic, Shooter Jennings, members of Soundgarden, and more.
There will also be appearances from Les Claypool, Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament, Mike McCready and Eddie Vedder, Sammy Hagar, Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave’s Tom Morello, Robert Downey, Jr., and others.
“It feels truly special to receive the MoPOP Founders Award in our home town of Seattle. It’s also humbling to be joined by so many of our friends, peers and heroes to rock some AIC tunes,” the band’s Jerry Cantrell said in a statement. “I hope people watching enjoy the show as much as we did putting it together. A big hearty thanks to everyone who participated in making this virtual thing happen during these strange times. Music has the power to unite, heal and inspire. It is all of ours. Let’s continue to create and celebrate that which feeds the soul. Rawk on!”
