Francis Of Delirium – “The Funhouse”
Last year, Francis Of Delirium, the Luxembourg-based indie rock project led by the very young Vancouver native Jana Bahrich, turned a whole lot of heads with their debut EP Wading, and then they followed that EP with the one-off singles “Come Out And Play” and “All Love.” Right now, the band is getting ready to tour North America with the Districts, and they’ve just released another track. It might be their best one yet.
“The Funhouse,” the new Francis Of Delirium single, is a sharp, purposeful piece of alternative rock. The song could’ve come from a ’90s band who got buried in the post-grunge major-label feeding frenzy, or it could’ve been a blog hit in the early ’00s. It exists out of time like that. The track matches Bahrich’s breathy, overwhelmed vocals with a big, mean guitar riff, and they complement each other beautifully. Check the self-directed psychedelic “Funhouse” video below.
“The Funhouse” is out now on Dalliance Recs.
