POND – “Lights Of Leeming”
Australian psych-rock band POND released their ninth studio album, aptly entitled 9, late last year. This spring, they’re releasing a deluxe edition of the album featuring etching and a holographic gatefold sleeve, a 12-page booklet, and four new tracks. And one of those tracks, the synth-spiked “Lights Of Leeming,” is out today.
“‘Lights Of Leeming’ is a true story about the crushing boredom of suburbia and the wild and destructive things people do to break the monotony,” says frontman Nicholas Allbrook. “To see that there’s at least something you can do to affect your surroundings — to be seen and validated as a real, existent part of the world — even if it’s just breaking something or getting in trouble. It’s pretty dumb fun, but dumb fun is important, right?”
