Last month, Vieux Farka Touré and Khruangbin announced a new collaborative album, Ali, a tribute to Touré’s father Ali Farka Touré. They shared its lead single “Savanne” at the time, and now they’re back with another track from it, “Tongo Barra,” a heady, expansive six-minute song that’s sung entirely in the Malian Songhai dialect.
