I am pretty sure trying to overthrow the government because you lost your reelection bid is the sort of thing that should render you socially radioactive. Nobody would have given a shit if Trump had gone on Truth Social complaining that Guy Fieri wouldn't give him a grip-and-grin photo op. And let's be brutally honest here: Loretta Lynn, by her later years, was probably gone in the head, such that Jack White could put her in the smile-and-nod category. A pretty large portion of Trump's core supporters are elderly people who would be considered intellectually disabled were they tested, and probably shouldn't even be allowed to vote, let alone own a firearm or operate a vehicle. We don't do that on a regular basis in this society because we don't want to admit that so many of the elderly can't really be fully fledged members of society anymore, because that would raise Difficult Questions. | ||
