Finding love at Coachella? Crazier things have happened. Finding love at Coachella with the lead singer of a headlining band? Hmm… But that’s the general plot for The Idea Of You, a new romantic comedy that’s based on a 2017 novel of the same name, which was loosely inspired by the idea of … dating Harry Styles? (The real Styles didn’t headline Coachella until 2022, after the book came out, and One Direction never performed at the fest.)

The Idea Of You stars Anne Hathaway as a 40-year-old single mother who brings her 16-year-old daughter to Coachella, where she meets the lead singer of a band called August Moon, who is 24 and played by Nicholas Galitzine. May December who? “I’m too old for you,” Hathaway’s character says in the trailer; fake Harry Styles: “No, you’re not.”

The Idea Of You will premiere at SXSW later this month on March 16 as the Closing Night Film, and it’ll be on Prime Video starting May 2. It was directed by Michael Showalter.

The fake boy band in the film also has a real-life song called “Dance Before We Walk,” which is out today. The track was co-written by Savan Kotecha and Carl Falk, who also collaborated with One Direction, including on “What Makes You Beautiful.” Here’s that:
