Papa Roach Raise Money For Suicide Prevention With Family Feud Win, Carrie Underwood Collab

ABC

Papa Roach have a new single, the Carrie Underwood-featuring “Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark),” coming out on Friday, making this week a timely opportunity for them to compete on (and win!) Celebrity Family Feud. A portion of their earnings from both the TV appearance and the single are going towards a good cause, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

Papa Roach went up against Daughtry on Tuesday night’s episode of Celebrity Family Feud, where they opined on highbrow categories like “things a couple might make love on while it’s moving” and “something specific Mrs. Peanut might threaten to do to Mr. Peanut when she gets angry.” Team Papa came out victorious, earning $25,000 for AFSP, their charity of choice.

As for Team Daughtry, this is the most I’ve thought about the band since frontman Chris Daughtry competed on American Idol in 2006. You know who else once competed on American Idol (and is reportedly replacing Katy Perry as a host)? Carrie Underwood. It’s all connected. Here’s what Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix said in a statement about teaming up with the country star on the upcoming single:

We were humbled that Carrie was open to our mission, and hearing the power of Carrie’s voice in that recording session we were blown away. Not only is her vocal ability unequaled, but the impact of her voice brings a new meaning to our cause and will help people all over the globe. It’s an honor to have a “Rock Star” bring life to this track with us.

There’s a couple of clips of Papa Roach’s Celebrity Family Feud episode available on YouTube, which you can watch below.
