Cardi B first filed for divorce from Offset in September 2020, but it was only about a month before the two had seemingly gotten back together. Now, Page Six reports that Cardi is filing for divorce again, the same day she’s announced that she’s pregnant with her third child.

Rumors of Offset’s infidelity have pretty much always plagued the two rappers’ relationship since they tied the knot in 2017. But cheating wasn’t a factor in their separation now, at least according to an insider: “They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else,” that person told Page Six. “This is something she wants to do.” Also on Cardi’s to-do list is “obtaining primary custody” of their two children: A five-year-old daughter named Kulture and a two-year-old son named Wave.

“They both have been trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while now,” the source added. “It’s not something that happened overnight… They’ve both been on the same page. There wasn’t [pushback]. They’ve grown apart and that feeling has gotten stronger overtime. It’s become unavoidable.”

Cardi and Offset’s relationship has often been rocky. They first announced that they had split up in December 2018: “We’re not together anymore. I don’t know, it might take time to get a divorce,” Cardi said at the time. “And I’m always going to have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father.” But they quickly got back together after Offset crashed Cardi’s Rolling Loud set with a sign reading “TAKE ME BACK CARDI.”

Cardi B announced her pregnancy Thursday on Instagram with a pair of photos flaunting her bump. The caption reads:

With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!
