Bob Dylan Plays “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35” & “A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall” For First Time In Years
Bob Dylan is playing the hits again. The legendary singer-songwriter is infamous for forgoing his hits in favor of deep cuts and converting well-known songs into inscrutable new forms, but in the past week he’s broken out two certified classics for the first time in years.
Dylan is out West right now with Willie Nelson’s touring Outlaw Music Festival. At the tour’s stop Sunday at Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland, CA, he performed “A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall” (which was just used in the trailer for Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown) for the first time since 2017. Then, Wednesday night in Nampa, ID at Ford Amphitheater, he busted out “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35” for the first time since 2016.
Not only did he play these songs, he played recognizable versions of them. Watch footage of both performances below.
