In 2023, rumors spread about a potential Beyoncé residency at the Sphere. That obviously didn't happen, and reports claimed negotiations ended after MSG refused her request for the Sphere to close for two weeks so she could rehearse. The singer embarked on her Cowboy Carter Tour earlier this week, and she's been hit with a cease-and-desist from the Sphere for jokey stage visuals involving the Las Vegas venue.

Per The Post, Sphere owner James Dolan is not happy with the big screens at her concerts showing a giant Beyoncé walking through the Las Vegas skyline and playing with what appears to be the Sphere. In the letter, Kathleen McCarthy of the law firm King & Spalding wrote, “Beyoncé — many orders of magnitude larger than the Sphere venue — leans over, picks up the venue, and looms over it."

Beyoncé is accused of “impermissible use and violation” of the company’s intellectual property rights, which “has resulted in significant speculation that Beyoncé will end her tour with a Sphere residency.” McCarthey continued, “SEG was never asked and the prominent appearance and manipulation of SEG’s Sphere venue in the video is unauthorized."

Sphere has offered Monday as a deadline to stop using the visuals, or Sphere Entertainment Group “reserves all rights to take further action as SEG deems appropriate without notice.”

Meanwhile, on Thursday (May 1) Beyoncé performed "Single Ladies" for the first time since 2018 and "If I Were A Boy" for the first time since 2014 at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium.

Another day, another lawsuit!

Due to the illegal and unauthorized use of Sphere in her tour promo video, James Dolan, CEO of Sphere Entertainment, has sent Beyonce and her team a cease and desist letter. #COWBOYCARTERTour #Hasbeyn #BeyonceIsOverPartypic.twitter.com/Ox7JfhgyTI
