Seattle police are investigating a recent incident in which two men broke into rap star Macklemore's Capitol Hill home, stealing jewelry and attacking a nanny with bear mace. KOMO News reports that the two men invaded Macklemore's house after midnight on Saturday, when three children were home. The kids were safely removed from the house, and the nanny got away with minor injuries after escaping the attackers.
According to KOMO News, the two men sprayed the nanny with bear mace and then demanded to know the location of Macklemore's jewelry. She led them to the master bedroom, where they made off with thousands of dollars' worth of jewelry, watches, and shoes. The nanny escaped after she bit one of the men's hands, and she made it to a neighbor's house and called for help.
The nanny reportedly "believes the crime might have been politically motivated." Macklemore's recent pro-Palestinian statements have affected his festival bookings and business relationships.
