People have been flocking to Geese like crazy this year in the wake of Cameron Winter's solo album Heavy Metal, and the frenzy has only intensified with the recent release of the Brooklyn band's third album Getting Killed, a certified Album Of The Year contender. You may well be one of those people, or maybe you're remaining a skeptic. Either way, perhaps you'd be interested in seeing a video for "Au Pays du Cocaine."
The song, part of the brilliant run of tracks that make up the new album's second half, is on the slow and beautiful side of the Geese oeuvre; it's one of the Getting Killed songs that would make sense on Heavy Metal. In director Milo Hume's video, a distraught- and depleted-looking Winter sings to a baby across the table (it's actually three separate babies, per the credits), walks around the room a bit, then heads upstairs to the crib for a nap. No really, that's what happens. See for yourself below.
Getting Killed is out now on Partisan/Play It Again Sam.
