The Belgian producer Shungu must have a whole lot of friends. Next month, he'll release his new album Faith In The Unknown, which has appearances from people like Navy Blue, Maxo, and Fly Anakin. We've already posted the LP's first single, the impressive Pink Siifu collab "Stay Alive." As you might've noticed, many of Shugu's collaborators are rappers, but he goes in a very different direction on the new track "Last Time," which he made with the culty R&B singer Liv.e.
Shungu and Liv.e previously worked together on some tracks from Liv.e's 2020 album Couldn't Wait To Tell You, and he calls her "he kind of artist who makes it meaningful for me to keep making music in a world that is changing so fast." Their new song "Last Time" is a misty, ultra-languid soul-jazz meditation that reminds me of what Jill Scott was doing in the late '90s. Listen below.
