Sabrina Carpenter Slams White House’s “Evil And Disgusting” ICE Video Using Her Song

The people shaping Donald Trump's second presidential term have revealed their sick and twisted moral compass in many ways. One example: the series of videos they've posted to social media networks gleefully mocking ICE's mass arrests and deportation of immigrants without due process. One such post that was published yesterday incorporated the music of Sabrina Carpenter, much to her dismay.

About a minute and a half into "Juno," a highlight from 2024's Short N' Sweet, Carpenter sings of experimenting with a range of sexual positions, posing the question, "Have you ever tried this one?" A clip posted to the White House's official X account Monday incorporates that segment of the song, setting it to footage of several ICE arrests. "Have you ever tried this one?" the post's text reads. "Bye-bye ??."

Today a horrified Carpenter replied from her own account, "this video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda." According to Deadline, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson responded to Carpenter with a statement that references this year's hit "Manchild" and last year's album title: "Here's a Short n' Sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter: we won't apologize for deporting dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles from our country. Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?"

You can see the offending video and Carpenter's response below.

Carpenter's peer and one-time rival Olivia Rodrigo had a similar run-in with Trump when his TikTok account posted a video soundtracked by her hit "Deja Vu" last year. Rodrigo managed to get that video muted. We'll see if Carpenter makes any similar progress.

UPDATE: The White House account has deleted the video.

Sabrina Carpenter is now our President. Sorry, don't make the rules
