Belgrado Announce New EP El Encuentro: Hear “Bezsenność”

Three years ago, a Barcelona band called Belgrado released an album called Intra Apogeum on the international DIY punk label La Vida Es Un Mus, and we thought it was cool as hell. Despite their label affiliation, Belgrado weren't making punk. Instead, their sound and aesthetic was straight out of time, a well-observed and specific take on the Eastern European dance-pop of the early '80s. Now, they're back with more of that.

Belgrado have apparently been around for a decade and a half, and they've really honed their approach. Today, they share "Bezsenność," the opening song from their upcoming EP El Encuentro. Belgrado singer Patrcyja Proniewska is from Warsaw, and the title "Bezsenność" is Polish for "Insomnia." On the track, she projects icy, deadpan glamor while synths and drum machines swirl and blink around her. Even director Renzo André's video captures the period-specific art-film vibe. Take a trip through time and space below.

TRACKLIST:
01 "Bezsenność"
02 "Moje Myśli"
03 "Labirynt Marzeń"
04 "Spotkanie"

The El Encuentro EP is out 2/6 on La Vida Es Un Mus.
