The recent trashy-fun hit Netflix miniseries His & Hers takes place in the small Georgia town of Dahlonega, which means I kept getting Ashley McBryde stuck in my head when I watched it. This was a good thing. "A Little Dive Bar In Dahlonega" is the kind of song that you want to have stuck in your head, and McBryde, one of this era's truly great mainstream country singers, has a bunch more of those. Today, she's got a new one. Well-timed, Ashley McBryde.
McBryde co-wrote her new single "What If We Don't" with regular collaborators Terri Jo Box, and Randall Clay, and John Osborne produced it. It's a big, powerful singalong about romantic tension and the fear of making the first move. This thing has a chorus. Brandon Campbell directed the video, which tells a tale of real-life tragedy that's apparently taken from McBryde's real life. Check it out below.
"What If We Don't" is out now on Warner Nashville.
