Hawaii-born, Oklahoma-raised musician PawPaw Rod has come a long way since his 2020 debut single "HIT EM WHERE IT HURTS." Since releasing his 2024 EP Doobie Mouth, it seems Rod has been in an incubating period. He only released one single last year "Safe Spaces," which had a soothing country twang to it. Today, the rapper-singer is back with his first song of 2026 "The Get Back," which has him returning to dreamy, funk-infused rap.
“‘The Get Back’ feels spiritual to me,” Rod explained in a press release. “It’s like my ancestors singing through the song, reminding me that I’m living a prayer someone had before me. No matter how much my world changes, this track keeps me grounded in my roots and why I started.”
