Legendary rap producer the Alchemist has been making music since the early '90s, when he was one half of teenage Beverly Hills duo the Whooliganz with Scott Caan. He continues to make tons and tons of music. A few months ago, Armand Hammer and the Alchemist released Mercy, their second collaborative album. Now, he's announcing a new solo album, and its lead single is a team-up with longtime collaborator Roc Marciano.
Roc Marciano and the Alchemist have released two collaborative albums, 2022's The Elephant Man's Bones and 2024's The Skeleton Key. As it happens, Roc Marci just released his extremely cool self-produced album 656 on Friday. Now, he's on the Alchemist's new single "Lord Protect Me," from Alc's upcoming LP The Good Book 3. (The first two self-released Good Book albums both came out in 2020.)
Alchemist co-produced "Lord Forgive Me" with Budgie, and it finds Roc Marciano complaining about relationship woes over a typically hazy beat. This subject matter isn't exactly tailored to Roc's strengths, but he makes it sound cool. Check out the video below.
The Good Book 3 is apparently out 1/23 on ALC Records.
