Mx Lonely – “Anesthetic”

Owen Lehman

New York shoegazers Mx Lonely are part of the crucial roster at Julia's War, the label founded by They Are Gutting A Body Of Water's Douglas Dulgarian, and they're a few weeks away from releasing their extremely cool full-length debut All Monsters, and we've already posted their singles "Big Hips," "Shape Of An Angel," and "Return To Sender." Today, they've got another good one for us.

Mx Lonely's new song "Anesthetic" is a heavy, melodic zone-out about longing for numbness after a breakup. Singer/keyboardist Rae Haas describes it as "a love song to the addict, an ode to and feeling highs and lows rather than searching for something to numb the pain." If you have any love in your heart for Fleshwater, you'll probably be into this one. I really like director Owen Lehman's crisp black-and-white video, too. It's below.

All Monsters is out 2/20 on Julia's War.
