Minneapolis multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Arianna Wegley is the driving force behind Spaceport. What started as a solo project has evolved into a trio, with Wegley joined by drummer Todd Olson and bassist Liam Moore. They'll soon follow up their 2023 debut Window Seat with a new album called Cut The Lake, and based on lead single "Switch," it's gonna be good.
"Switch" is a midtempo indie power ballad marked that keeps its gritty yearning in perfect balance with its elegant grandeur. If you're into Soccer Mommy or Great Grandpa, or even lush and emotive pop-rock from artists without family members in the band name, you'll probably dig this.
Spaceport are deeply enmeshed in the Twin Cities music community, and they've decided to donate all digital sales of "Switch" and all proceeds from vinyl and CD pre-orders to SUN Mutual Aid Fund: Supporting Our Neighbors in South Minneapolis.
