Touch Girl Apple Blossom are part of the recent resurgence of jangly, punky indie pop that underground labels like K Records first helped pioneer in the '80s and '90s. Appropriately, K imprint Perennial will release the Austin quartet's debut album Graceful this May, and based off today's lead single "The Springtime Reminds Me Of...," it'll be a good one.
Graceful was recorded by Max Deems on one-inch tape in Austin and mastered by Amy Dragon. The ultra-catchy, riff-heavy "The Springtime Reminds Me Of..." toes the line between sentimental and existential: "We’re falling, bird calling/ Reminder that you’re alive/ Sun shining, it’s biting/ I want to stay inside/ But I must go."
