James Blake – “I Had A Dream She Took My Hand”

Harrison & Adair

Aww yeah baby, it's James Blake! He's back up in this motherfucker, and you better believe he is feeling wistfully romantic! You better stay out of this boy's way, or he is going to croon angelically right in your fucking face!

J Bee Wit The Remedy will release his new album Trying Times soon, and we posted his single "Death Of Love" already. Today, he breaks us off with the woozily lovestruck "I Had A Dream She Took My Hand." It sounds like it's built on a sample of some Lynchian '50s pop standard, but it's actually built on a sample of "It Was Only A Dream" a Lynchian-'50s-pop pastiche that LA band Thee Sinseers released in 2019.

Blake's track is mostly focused on his voice and piano, but it builds nicely to a reverb-drenched choir and some strong live-drummer business. In addition to the record itself, Blake also shared a video of himself and his band performing it live in studio, and he announced some North American tour dates. You can find all that stuff below.
