Jobi Riccio Announces New Album Face The Feeling: Hear “Pilar, NM”

Alt-country singer-songwriter Jobi Riccio released her debut album Whiplash back in 2023, and we named it one of the best country albums of that year. She's announced its follow-up Face The Feeling, which she's also previewing this week with the proper lead single "Pilar, NM."

Face The Feeling sees Riccio adopt a more indie-rock influenced sound, as evidenced by her punky January single "Buzzkill." But she hasn't abandoned her Nashville roots entirely: The subtle pedal steel embellishments on "Pilar, NM" give way to a wash of panoramic strings that hark back to classic outlaw and folk standards: "Make myself turn and face the feeling/ And sit inside of it."

"I wanted to create a place — for myself and for others — to face the good, bad, and ugly feelings," Riccio says of the album in a press release. "Even when the noise of the world gets overwhelming." Enter that place below, where you can also see the full Face The Feeling tracklist.
