Last year, LAKE released their 10th album Bucolic Gone. Now the indie pop band's Eli Moore is announcing his debut solo LP The Power Line and sharing the title track.
About the single, Moore says:
"The Power Line" started while strumming one summer day in the field by my house. I was amusing myself, playing something upbeat and jangly. It didn’t feel like me — too sunny, like Blind Melon or some other lost 90’s radio hit I couldn’t quite place. But as I worked on the lyrics, it grew into a song about my darker half, "the shadow," how I play with it and how it hides from me, while inspiring my creative process. In the end, it became a song that feels very much me, articulating how the outer world leads me closer to my inner world, and how this inner world is reflected in my surroundings.
The album was recorded and mixed at the Anacortes Unknown Recording Studio with Nicholas Wilbur and features Mark Buzard (The Format), Paul Benson (Ever Ending Kicks / New Issue), Steve Moore (Earth, Sufjan Stevens), Jenn Grant, and Moore's wife and LAKE bandmate Ashley Eriksson.
