Attila Are Trying To Sell Spots On Their Pre-Show Playlist

People are always trying to invent new forms of payola, to monetize parts of the live-music experience that did not previously exist within the pay-for-play domain. The latest piece of that pie that someone's trying to sell involves the pre-concert playlist, the music that's piped into a venue before a band takes the stage. Generally, artists use that music to set a vibe, or possibly give a tiny bit of shine to their friends' bands, or even to create an ironic juxtaposition for when the actual act takes the stage. But now, someone is trying to turn that playlist into real estate that can be sold. Thankfully, the person doing the selling is the guy from Attila, so it's probably going to fail.

The rap-influenced Atlanta metalcore crew Attila found success in the early '10s by making some of the worst music that you ever heard in your life, and they still get booked to play mid-sized clubs and gigantic racetrack metal fests and what have you. Earlier this week, frontman Chris "Fronz" Fronzak introduced an exciting new business opportunity: A chance to get your music played during the Attila's pre-show playlist.

Fronzak seems to intend his new business, which he calls Tour Soundtrack, into a service that any band can use. Right now, though, the only opportunity to take advantage is on Attila's upcoming tour with Slaughter To Prevail, a Russian deathcore band that faces constant allegations of Nazism. You can get yourself a spot on that tour playlist for the low, low price of $917.

Chris Fronzak's other business ventures include Jawz chewing gum, one of several brands of gum that's supposed to help sculpt your jawline, and God Pods, a line of high-caffeine coffee k-cups.
