We're getting real close to the release of True Green's new album Hail Disaster, and dang, haven't these previews been enticing? The latest, following "Italian Lightning" and "How To Draw Hands," is "Bindi Sue." Dan Hornsby repeats the word "gorgeous" all throughout, as if he's describing the musical accompaniment surrounding his voice. He isn't, but if he was, he'd be right.
As for the actual subject matter, Hornsby writes on Instagram, "This one is a tribute to the late, great Steve Irwin and is named after his daughter (who he named after his dog). I was a big fan as a kid. He was a lovely guy." Hornsby also reveals that Dustin James, who does True Green's shirts and hats, "wrote the spine of the music for this one." Our man Dustin cooked here. Listen below.
I like this crocodile graphic Hornsby made to go along with the song:
Hail Disaster is out 3/26 via Spacecase.
