Olof Dreijer Announces New Album Loud Boom: Hear “Echoed Dafnino” (Feat. MaMan)

One month ago, the Knife's classic album Silent Shout celebrated its 20th anniversary. The Knife broke up a long time ago, but both halves of the duo have put out new music since that anniversary. Karin Dreijer, who now records as Fever Ray, just made their feature debut in The Bride!, a new movie that looks like a big boondoggle, and they released a couple of songs on its soundtrack. Now, their sibling Olof Dreijer is announcing a new solo album called Loud Boom.

Olof Dreijer has put out a few solo releases in recent years. The most recent was the EP Iris, which just came out last October. This spring, Dreijer will release the new LP Loud Boom, which promises to use the language of house music to futuristic, subversive ends. The LP includes contributions from South African Afro rave artist Toya DeLazy and Colombian musician/past Dreijer collaborator Diva Cruz.

For the lead single "Echoed Dafnino," Dreijer teams up with MaMan, a Sudanese singer currently based in Cairo. MaMan wails euphorically in Arabic over Dreijer's pounding track. Below, check out that song and the Loud Boom tracklist.
