Later this month Robyn will finally release her new album Sexistential. A lot of things have happened in the eight years since her last album Honey, not least of which her becoming a mother for the first time. Today's new(ish) single "Blow My Mind" is the one song on Sexistential about Robyn's three-year-old son.
Real Robynheads might recall the original version of "Blow My Mind" that appeared on her 2002 album Don't Stop The Music. The 2026 version kicks the tempo up a notch and reworks some of the original lyrics, adding in lines like "your unbearably cute scrumptious little face." Robyn asserts, though: "It's not cute, because it’s not cute with children. They're cute, but the experience isn’t. It’s very punk." In a statement on social media, she adds:
Messy sensations, contradicting and fighting for attention, CUTE AGGRESSION, total devotion. "Blow My Mind" is another snapshot of my love life. I love this song so much and always wanted to re-record it, this time it’s about my son’s tiny soft hands with nails sharp as knifes.
