Screaming Fist hail from Oakland, where they make intense, explosive, brutally physical Spanish-language hardcore punk. Until today, the only release on their Bandcamp page was the Templanza EP from way back in 2019. Now there are two.
The new Santa Plaga EP is out on the essential Denver hardcore label Convulse. It starts with a bang and does not relent over the course of its five-song, 14-minute run. The vocals are consistently fierce, sometimes veering into melodic territory and sometimes descending into sheer sonic violence. The music follows suit. It's a rip-roaring, hold-on-tight, holy-fucking-shit wow-wow-wow yeah-yeah-yeah type experience. I recommend it.
