A UK edition of Saturday Night Live will premiere this Saturday on Sky TV and Now TV. A week ago the show revealed its cast: Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young. Today, they've announced the hosts and musical guests for the first three episodes.
Tina Fey, O.G. SNL alum and potential Lorne Michaels heir apparent, will host the SNL UK series premiere with musical guest Wet Leg. On March 28, host Jamie Dornan will be joined by musical guest Wolf Alice. Riz Ahmed, who'll host the April 4 edition, could feasibly double as musical guest, but the artist they've booked to join him is the veteran British rock band Kasabian.
Will anyone besides indie-ish UK rock bands perform on this show? Will it be any good? And will it actually last beyond these first three episodes? Should be fun to find out.
