A few weeks ago Rosalía and Björk gave a live debut to "Berghain" at the BRIT Awards. Tonight the Spanish superstar performed many live debuts at her Lux Tour kickoff at LDLC Arena outside of Paris.
Off last year's pop blockbuster Lux, Rosalía performed these tracks for the first time: "Sexo, violencia y llantas," "Porcelana," "Divinize," "Mio Cristo piange diamanti," "Sauvignon blanc," "La yugular," "Dios es un stalker," "La Rumba Del Perdón," "Novia robot," "Focu ’ranni," and "Magnolias."
Meanwhile earlier this week the singer issued a public apology after she made a comment on the Spotify Presenta podcast, saying she separates the art from the artist in the case of Picasso. The late painter's abusive treatment of women has always been a topic of conversation; there are many articles out there that grapple with it (including this one in British Vogue). In her apology, Rosalía said she wasn't aware of the abuse.
"Hey, I've wanted to make this video for days, but I wanted to choose the right words," Rosalía began her apology video, which is in Spanish and translated here. "I’m not comfortable with what happened when I talked about Picasso’s topic. I’m not at peace with what I said about Picasso."
"It's important not to talk about certain things when you don’t have enough knowledge," she said. "I personally thought Picasso was a great man, as people have said before. But I didn’t know there were real cases of abuse."
"I want to apologize if there was a lack of sensitivity on my part during that conversation with Mariana [Enriquez], and for that absolute lack of empathy with those women and their testimonies," she continued.
