Fentanyl Announce New Self-Titled Album: Hear “Cobrar El Dolor”

There are two types of bands in this world: The ones willing to give themselves absurdly sketchy names, thus causing themselves years of club-marquee and merch-distribution problems, and the cowards. That means there's Fentanyl, and then there's everyone else. A few years ago, Kenneth Turner, mastermind of the Bay Area heavy hardcore project Foghorn, got together with members of bands like Spiritual Cramp, Spy, and World Peace to form the feral hardcore punk supergroup known as Fentanyl. They released their debut album Fentanyl in 2024, and now they've announced their sophomore LP. Naturally, it's called Fentanyl.

Fentanyl's sound is fast, primal, super-rudimentary '80s-style hardcore punk, and that's what we get from their new single "Cobrar El Dolor" (Spanish for "To Charge For The Pain"). It's a slashing, growling, extremely fun anthem that only needs 84 seconds to reduce you to animal form. I really like the Derek Rathbun-directed video. It's got the members of Fentanyl rocking suits and riding around in a limousine, raising hell. Then they pull up and play the kind of hardcore show where they're spraying champagne on you while you try to stagedive. Check out that video and the Fentanyl tracklist below.

TRACKLIST:
02 "Layers Of Shame"
02 "Fool's Errand"
03 "Insubordinate"
04 "Cobrar el Dolor"
05 "Escapist"
06 "Survived By"

08 "Delay Tolerance"

Fentanyl's second self-titled album is out 5/1 on Convulse.
