This should've been the first single. I don't want to tell anyone how to do their job, but when you've got a song like "Stairway To Nowhere," you make sure and let people know about it right away. The other singles from King Tuff's upcoming album MOO have been good, but "Stairway To Nowhere" is a triumphant fists-up anthem of the highest order. It's got that Cheap Trick feeling where you can't quite tell if it's power-pop or arena rock. It makes me want to ride around in the back of a pickup truck while shooting off fireworks. This is a good one.
King Tuff's MOO comes out later this month, and we posted the singles "Twisted On A Train" and "Invisible Ink." Like I said: Good songs! Just not this good! Underground veteran Kyle Thomas, who just produced Morgan Nagler's very good album I’ve Got Nothing To Lose, And I’m Losing It, recorded MOO after returning back to his Vermont hometown after a stint living in LA. Thomas co-directed the sasquatch-themed "Stairway To Nowhere" video with Sela; check it out below.
MOO is out 3/27 on Kyle Thomas' own MUP Records, via Thirty Tigers.
