Lifeloose – “Lifeloose”

It's the song "Lifeloose" by the band Lifeloose, from their album Lifeloose. Except no, that last part isn't true. There is no album yet. I'm projecting. But the London electroclash duo Lifeloose, who have evidently played a whole lot of live shows around the UK in the past year, just released their debut single. By amazing coincidence, it's also called "Lifeloose."

Lifeloose is Aldi Ho and Josie Silverman, two friends who met when they were studying different kinds of music (opera and electronic music) at London's Guildhall Middle School. Together, they make throbbing, hedonistic dance tracks with murmuring deadpan vocals. This type of shit used to set the party off in the early '00s, and I'm glad that a younger generation is getting to experience some version of that trashy hipster club music.

The duo just headlined London's famed Windmill last weekend. In a press release, they say, "'Lifeloose' is our dark and hypnotic satirical take on self-importance. Mixing irony and seduction, the floaty vocals flirts with a crusty breakbeat and DIY wacky electronics… The party’s only just begun." Listen below.
