As you can probably guess from the band name, Hold My Own make heavy, chest-thumping hardcore anthems with big, chunky riffs. The band members, spread across Chicago and New Jersey, have been in the game for a while, and they've all got extensive resumes. Frontman Gregory Falchetto used to lead the band that was unfortunately known as the Mongoloids, and the group also features members of bands like MH Chaos and Sector. Hold My Own have cranked out a bunch of material since their demo came out in 2021, and now they're getting ready to release their full-length debut Pay No Mind.
Hold My Own recorded Pay No Mind with Weekend Nachos' Andy Nelson, and it's got appearances from Bulldoze's George Puda and Sunami's Josef Alfonso. The band already shared one album track, the metallic stomper "Countdown," as a standalone single. Along with the LP announcement, they've also shared "Negative Shit," a very fun track with guest vocals and a guitar solo from Fatal Realm leader/Mindforce guitarist Mike Shaw.
In the Theo Sicurella-directed "Negative Shit" video, the members of Hold My Own put on black robes and corpsepaint to summon Mike Shaw's spirit.
